Meghan Markle Is Taking a Break from Her Podcast After 10 Episodes

Meghan Markle is ready to take a break. Not from her marriage to Prince Harry or her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, but from her podcast. After finishing her first season of Confessions of a Female Founder, Meghan confirmed that she is taking a step back from podcasting to focus on her other business venture: As Ever.

It’s no secret that Meghan’s Lemonada Media podcast is on hiatus. The season finale of her pod, “Business is Not a Battlefield with SPANX’s Sara Blakely,” premiered May 27, with a special bonus episode featuring Tina Knowles dropped June 3. But while fans might have assumed that season 2 of Confessions of a Female Founder was already in the works, it turns out the podcast isn’t just on hiatus—it’s on pause.

Meghan confirmed the news on a podcast—where else? “I love that there’s so much excitement and desire for a second season,” she said, per Us Weekly during an appearance on Aspire with Emma Grede, “but I need to focus on my business.”

She continued, saying that growing her lifestyle/jam brand is her priority, but it’s difficult to do that while juggling a podcast and a Netflix show. “Very rarely do people see everything that’s happening behind the scenes. I show a small glimpse of that, but equally, I wrapped season 1 of my Netflix series, still had to promote it, still had to be in edits for season 2.” At the end of the day, there was just only so much she can do, she said, adding, “At a certain point, the only thing I want spread thin is my jam!”

To that end, she’s focused on making her best-selling jam, building As Ever, and developing her business using the tools she’s learned from all her interviews on the podcast. And, who knows, she just might bring back Confessions of a Female Founder to share all of the business tips she learns along the way. “I would love to bring the show back when I am at a different end of my founder journey,” Meghan said. “When I’ve gone through Q4 and say, ‘Here are my proof points… wow, what a year it’s been.’ Or even longer than that. I think a different time will be so exciting to compare and contrast.”

So, there you have it. This female founder isn’t going to say much again until at least one year into her business, which, FYI is having new product drop on Friday, June 20.
