She shocked many style enthusiasts when she stepped out in a hairstyle different from her swept-up, classic ballerina chignon, debuting a new hairstyle for the first time in some 50 years.

At the Military Musical Spectacular: ‘Heroes’ held at Horse Guards Parade, Princess Anne – The Princess Royal arrived in a look that perfectly reflected her trademark style: elegant, dignified, and deeply respectful of military tradition.

She revealed this after speculation over her hair during a promotion of “The Crown.” The Princess Royal expressed her preference for practicality over following every trend set when she said:

“I’m thinking, ‘How could you possibly take that long?’ I mean, it takes me 10 or 15 minutes.”
