A source is exclusively revealing to Parade why Prince Harry and Prince William might reconnect sooner rather than later amid their years-long feud.

“King Charles really isn’t doing well,” the insider says of King Charles III, who was diagnosed with cancer last year, adding that his health has been “deteriorating more.”

The source adds: “It wouldn’t be surprising if William and Harry reconnected a bit more over this. This could be the thing that pushes it to happen.”

Parade reached out to Buckingham Palace and Kensington Palace for comment but did not immediately hear back.

Charles was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in February 2024, the Palace announced in a statement last year. During his hospital stay for a routine procedure for benign prostate enlargement at the time, tests revealed that cancer was detected, though a specific type has still not yet been shared with the public.

Harry, 40, and William’s intense feud stems back to at least 2019. In Harry’s memoir Spare, he described a tense confrontation between himself and William, 43, at that time, in which the latter criticized his now-wife, Meghan Markle.

Harry and Meghan, 44, officially stepped down from their royal duties in March 2020. One year later, the pair sat down with Oprah Winfrey for an explosive interview, in which they dropped multiple bombshell allegations about the royal family.

The brothers have not been seen together since August of last year, according to various reports.

During an interview with the BBC in May, the Duke of Sussex said he hoped to mend fences with the royals.

“I would love reconciliation with my family,” he said. “There’s no point continuing to fight anymore. Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has. He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff [the Sussex family is entitled to in the U.K.], but it would be nice to reconcile.”
