Don’t freak out, but princess Catherine is blonde now. Last month, pictures of the Princess of Wales surfaced that revealed her apparently lighter hair. But because they were captured through a car window, it was impossible to tell just how much lighter. Well, today it was confirmed: she is officially a bronde.
Appearing alongside her husband Prince William during a visit to the National History Museum on Thursday, Middleton’s famously chestnut-brown hair looked significantly lighter, styled in loose waves and reaching long past the middle of her back. In contrast to her signature dark waves and side-parted blow-dry, her new look is a distinct change – lighter, parted just off centre, and with a much more distinct curl to the ends.
Ever since Middleton formally returned to royal duties last year, following her successful chemotherapy treatment, the mum-of-three has been gradually lightening her hair, transitioning from a deep chocolate brown to this lighter, ash-blonde shade.
Call it a back-to-school revamp or just a bucking of the season’s usual trend to go darker as the nights draw in, but Kate was clearly in the mood for a refresh to mark the new season.
