Prince William ‘rolling his eyes’ at Harry’s attempt to ‘raise his profile’

Prince William in Brazil

Prince William is in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for this year’s Earthshot Prize ceremony. William just arrived yesterday and wasn’t there very long before Prince Harry popped up with his own travel plans.

Harry is scheduled to be in Toronto later this week for Canada’s Remembrance Day period.

And while William was busy his first day of the visit with the mayor of Rio de Janeiro presenting him with the keys to the city, it did make us wonder if Harry was on his mind.

Daily Express US spoke exclusively to Pauline Maclaran, who said that William was most likely rolling his eyes at his little brother trying to keep up with him, as their events often overlapped, but at the same time, the moment would most likely be fleeting.

Maclaran, a royal author and professor at Royal Holloway, said: “Haha – yes very likely! Although he will have a lot to keep him occupied so Harry won’t be at the forefront of his mind for long if he is at all.”

When William has an update, Harry has an update

The two brothers both have events this week, and there will be some overlap on Wednesday with William giving out the Earthshot Prize awards and Harry visiting with the military charity True Patriot Love Foundation the Halo Trust.

From the outside looking in, it seems like the brothers being compared can take away from their causes, but Maclaran doesn’t see it like that, in fact, it’s the opposite.

The royal expert said, “I don’t think so. In fact, the speculation around the brothers draws people in to gossip about the relationship.

“This also draws attention to what they are doing and highlights their causes at the same time.”

“I think he’s just trying to raise his own profile which continues to be overshadowed by Meghan’s activities.”

With the two brothers being compared to each other on a regular basis, it makes it seem like there’s an ongoing competition, but according to Maclaran, that isn’t the case; the events are scheduled separately.

Maclaran said: “These visits by both William and Harry will have been planned months in advance with neither aware of each other’s schedules.”

From the outside looking in, it seems like Harry is trying to keep up with his older brother, but really, it’s his wife who is steamrolling over his accomplishments.

“I think he’s just trying to raise his own profile, which continues to be overshadowed by Meghan’s activities.”
